THE BEST TIME

Tahquamenon Upper Falls
PLANNING YOUR SUMMER VACATION

January 26, 2021 was the "National Plan Your Summer Vacation" Day!  You may have missed it, I did.  But it isn't too late to still make plans.  Critical components to a successful vacation include time constraints, budgets, things to see, things to do plus in 2021, health and safety concerns.

BEST TIME

July, August, and September are the peak months for travelers in Paradise, Michigan.  Located in the eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan, there is a lot to see and do.  Call one of our members below and check to availability for this summer.  Schedule the type of facility you want enjoy for the time frame that suits your schedule best.  Confirm cancellation policies and book your space.  Make plans with your employer and schedule your vacation time.

If  you just happen through this remote community hoping to find a room at the end of the day, you might find a room at the Paradise Inn or Curley's Paradise Motel but you might not, especially on the weekend.   Looking for a cabin along the shores of Lake Superior's Whitefish Bay for a night?  Cabins usually have a three-night minimum stay requirement; many book a full week for the entire family.

To take in all the sights and sounds of the area, enjoying the cooler daily temperatures along Lake Superior's shoreline, you'll want to stay in the region a minimum of three nights, five is best.

Tahquamenon Riverboat RidesSpend a day at the Soo Locks in Sault Ste Marie, Mich., (40 miles from Paradise) and return to the quiet of Paradise.  Spend a day at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore of Munising, Mich. (100 miles) and return to a campfire at your cabin to reflect upon your adventure.  Spend a day counting the waves, reading a book, or identifying birds that flutter nearby.  Spend a day at Tahquamenon Falls State Park (14 Miles), walking their trails, splashing in the lower falls, awe inspired by the views of the Upper Falls.  Catch a ride on the Tahquamenon Riverboat (7 Miles), feed the bears at Oswald's Bear Ranch and listen to the stories of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum.  Don't rush your stay!  Drink in the beauty of the region and renew your spirit.
